Welcome back to the Vigilance Press Podcast!

A somewhat sniffly Jack Norris and Coffee Bean-munching James Dawsey talk about upcoming Vigilance Press Products, Marvel Heroic Roleplaying from Margaret Weis Productions, and the recently published PDF for DC Adventures Heroes and Villains Volume 2 for Mutants and Masterminds 3E! Two solid hours of meandering musings on superhero RPGs and some little teases here and there of things to come. Thanks for tuning in! As always, feel free to comment below and let us know what you think!

I love the podcast. I must say you do a great job making the plugs for Vigilance products not feel like a forced advertisement. They always feel relevant to the discussion. I confess I was not interested in a super hero rpg, in my mind none could replace Marvel Super Heroes by TSR, but your podcast has me quite smitten with Mutants and Masterminds.

Travis Morgan Warlord in in Heroes and Villains 2?. I thought they were going to wait to do him as part of a Skartaris entry in a mentioned DC book about settings in the DC Universe.

That is an interest take on Krypto after helping Superman defeat Atlas. I was confused about the end of that story ark. I thought Superman was chastising Metropolis and not promoting Krypto. I always refer to it as the “Kneel Before Dog!” moment, and not in a flattering way. I’ll have to give it another read with your interpretation in mind.

Do they make any good flip maps for superhero/modern rpgs?

For the record, I follow the podcast via the RSS feed and come directly here to the webpage to listen. Usually while doing laundry.

Also, I have all of the Field Guides so for and will likely pick up the last one in PDF to complete out the set. I wouldn’t likely do print on Demand but for a M&M version, I’d shell out for that bad boy.

Hey Bill! We’re strongly considering an M&M “Omnibus” edition of the Field Guide, rather than doing the chapters individually. Jason’s thinking of updating the text a bit, so we’d need to figure out how long that would take and what we really want to do there, but it’s certainly something we have on our minds! :)

Inkhorn- I haven’t seen any “Flip Mat” style maps for modern supers, but I’d certainly be interested in some if you find ‘em! :)

When are you going to get the old gang back together (Jack Norris, Dan Houser, Mike Lafferty) for some Actual Play sessions? Throw in Jason Tondro and it would be a great podcast!

Jason Tondro will indeed be joining us for some upcoming Actual Play sessions, but we’ve had to pull in another group of “Regulars” who can join us on a more reliable basis. :) Stay tuned! We’re looking at starting an actual campaign soon, where the characters can use their own characters. A character creation session should be coming up in the next couple of weeks!
