Great show. Many items to pique my interest as a buyer (although I wish more were being converted to Icons!). The general discussion was fascinating as well and I shall certainly be swiping the “dark secret” idea when the players generate their characters. One other thing, though, I’m not a fan of actual play recordings, but would rather hear a “post-match” discussion as you go over what happened, the whys, the wherefores and the results of people’s actions. Personally I find those kind of “actual play” reports more useful to us budding GMs.

Tim, thanks for the input! A post-match discussion is a pretty cool idea. I’ll see about trying to piece something like that together once we get to an Actual Play session. I will say, as surprising as it is to me, the Actual Play sessions are far and away our most popular podcasts. Anything I can do to make them more useful is certainly helpful!

Thanks.I’ve come to realise that I’m in the minority when it comes to ‘actual play recordings’, but over the years I’ve found that if I’m not playing a game I’d rather hear the “war stories” afterwards then sit in on the whole thing. I just can’t imagine anyone, for example, would want to listen to our group play as we veered off into in-jokes and asides or (in some games) ground to a halt to check a rules call ;)

Enjoyed it again. Don’t forget to come check out Infrno.net before your next ‘real play’ session! I know you will really like our game tables and our community. E-mail me man. :)

Also, as an aside, I am in the opposite camp as Tim. I adore rel play sessions, and I will sit in on groups at infrno just to listen to the guys and gals run an adventure. It’s like old school radio shows, but with much more shenanigans. ;)

I watched this out of order, hence the late reply. Awesome panel discussion! Hilarious and relevant. Thanks for all the great inspiration.
